Specific Recommendations:

Ashley: Here is a program in Massachusetts: http://www.massteenpregnancy.org/policy. This is the Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy. It's a page for policy makers. Maybe we could use this as part of our presentation. We could look at the policies they have and possibly come up with a letter writing campaign and encourage classmates to write letters. This can also go under up to date information.

I saw this about the Sierra Club (I didn't realize they had action oriented things related to teen pregnancy). On further review it's because family planning and over population have environmental effects. Interesting take...Anyway, there's like a "take action" button about

I just got this email this week and thought it could be something we address in our recommendation section.

Dear Jessica,

The Senate is our only chance to stop the efforts to bar Planned Parenthoodfrom its federal funding and eliminate the nation’s family planning program, Title X. With a vote expected after Congress returns from its March recess, we only have a short amount of time to convince our Senators that their constituents want them to Stand with Planned Parenthood.

There are two things you can do to help:

1. Join us for a rally on March 19th

Stand with Planned Parenthood on Saturday, March 19th at a rally on Boston Common, from 12 - 1 p.m. We need to create a visible show of support forPlanned Parenthood, and inform the public about the critical health services that are at stake. Please bring your friends and family to the Common’s Parkman Bandstand and make your voices heard. Email __**pinfo@pplm.org**__ for more information.

2. Call Senator Brown and ask for his support

We still don't know how Senator Brown will ultimately vote on PlannedParenthood’s funding and Title X. We saw the tremendous power of grassroots activism when Representative Lynch spoke out on behalf of PlannedParenthood during the House vote after receiving floods of calls and emails from supporters like you. With your calls, you could have the same impact on Senator Brown.

Please call Senator Brown today at (617) 565-3170. Here are some talking points for your call:
